How to Wrap Silicon Dioxide Algae-like Wallpaper Around a Plastered Angle
In the interior decoration industry, using materials like silicone algae-like wallpaper has become increasingly popular for its unique texture and aesthetics. While applying this material to regular wall areas is quite straightforward, wrapping it around a corner presents a challenge for even experienced decorators. Here are some steps to help you handle this task without compromising the elegance of your decor.
Preparations and Corner Identification
Before starting the process, ensure the walls are clean and smooth, as any imperfections will be visible through the wallpaper. Identify the exact position of the corner and mark it with a pencil line for accuracy. Prepare the necessary tools like measuring tape, cutting knife, pencil, rubber, and adhesive paste or wallpaper glue.
Trimming and Measuring
Take your silicon algae-like wallpaper and place it flat on the ground next to the corner. Measure from one end of the wallpaper to where you want it to end on the corner side, ensuring symmetry. Use a cutting knife to trim the excess material. Measure the height of the wall and cut the wallpaper accordingly. Ensure you have sufficient length to cover the corner smoothly.
Applying Wallpaper to the Wall
Starting from one side of the corner, apply adhesive paste or wallpaper glue onto the wall and onto the back of the wallpaper. Stick the wallpaper onto the wall starting from the top or bottom and smoothen out any bubbles or wrinkles. As you move along, make sure to apply even pressure to ensure good bonding.
Wrapping the Corner
The most challenging part is wrapping the wallpaper around the corner. Apply adhesive paste onto both sides of the corner and align the wallpaper properly. Use a ruler or straight edge to ensure it is aligned correctly. Once you have one side properly in place, gently press it against the corner while smoothing out any bubbles or wrinkles. Then apply adhesive paste onto the second side of the corner and press it against the first side ensuring a seamless joint.
Finishing Off
Once you have wrapped both sides of the corner, continue applying wallpaper along the rest of the wall following the same procedure as before. Ensure that there are no gaps or overlaps and that all edges are properly aligned and pressed down firmly. Trim any excess material at the end of each panel for a clean finish.
With patience and attention to detail, you should be able to successfully wrap silicone algae-like wallpaper around a corner without any visible imperfections. Remember to follow safety measures like using cutting tools with caution and avoiding getting adhesive paste on your skin or clothing.
